The Leipzig University Supervisor Award for above-average commitment to supervising doctoral researchers was presented this year to Prof. Dr. Holger Kohlmann, Professor of Functional Materials at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry.

Awarding the Supervisor Award at Leipzig University aims to express appreciation for excellent supervisors, to make high-quality supervision visible and to raise awareness of the topic of "standards of good supervision for doctoral researchers".

The Supervisor Award is endowed with 3000 €. The prize money is to be used for the promotion of young researchers and/or for research projects.

The prize was awarded on Doctoral Researchers' Day on November 15, 2023 by Prof. Dr. Roger Gläser, Vice-Rector for Talent Development and Head of the Graduate Academy. A total of 67 nominations were received for 44 supervisors.
