WELCOME TO THE FACULTY OF CHEMISTRY & MINERALOGY
Welcome to the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy
Chemistry in Leipzig has a tradition of more than three hundred years. Its greatest achievements are connected to names such as Herrmann Kolbe, Johannes Wislicenius, Wilhelm Ostwald and Arthur Hantzsch.
The reestablishment of the faculty in 1994 brought with it a sweeping change of staff and topics
Moving into the new main building in 1999 and renovating the Technikum Analytikum in 2013 thanks to EFRE-funds allowed the study and work conditions at the faculty to rise to a modern level. The instrumental equipment provided enables excellent research into current topics.
