NMR-Spektroskopie: Prinzipien, Konzepte und Anwendungen, (Modul 13-121-0111 “NMR1d”)
Selected Topics of Analytical Chemistry, Modul 13-122-0121 (ASC16-LE), Modul 13-122-0122 (ASC 32-LE) “NMR2”
Spezielle Analytische Methoden (Module 13-0121-0124 “NMR2”)
Summer Semester (1st half)
The usual time for our weekly workgroup seminars is every Wednesday, 8:30am, TA-257.
During CORONA times, nearly all seminars are broadcast via ZOOM link.
For details and time table see here.
Postgradual Study “Analytics & Spectroscopy”
For almost 50 years we are conducting a postgraduate course “Analytics & Spectroscopy” for graduates with an academic degree (e.g. BSc or MSc) in a scientific or technical subject. This postgraduate course is completed over two years in four one-week courses per year.
It is offered in German only.
Detailed information can be found on the website “Aufbaustudium Analytik & Spektroskopie”.
The Cycle of Four “Summer Schools”
The 1st part of the cycle of four summer schools General NMR will restart in February 2022.
The school has been dedicated to basic theories of NMR and EPR.
Caused by Corona, there was no school in 2020 and 2021. Therefore, we restart the full cycle in 2022. Further announcements and a call for application will be provided in autumn 2021.
- Quantum mechanics of NMR and EPR
- Spin interactions
- Density operator formalism
- Product operator formalism
- Simulation software “Simpson”
- Solid state NMR: MAS and CP
- Decoupling and recoupling
- Multidimensional experiments
- Dr. Christian Bengs (University Southampton)
- Prof. Dr. Gunnar Jeschke (ETH Zürich)
- Prof. Dr. P. K. Madhu (TIFP Hyderabad)
- Prof. Dr. Jörg Matysik (Leipzig University)
- Prof. Dr. Tatyana Polenova (Delaware University)
- Prof. Dr. Paul Schanda (IST Klosterneuburg)
- Dr. Zdenek Tosner (Charles University Prague)
Summer School 2 "Relaxation" will be held in February 2023.
Further announcements and a call for application will be provided.
The school will be dedicated to Relaxation phenomena in NMR.
Solid-State NMR (2024)
To be announced.
To be announced.
Questions and Answers
Q: What kind of lectures will be given at the Summer School? Will professors give presentations or will they use blackboard to give lectures?
A: Professors will use “Power Point” and traditional blackboard.
Q: In case there will be a script, is it possible to get it in electronic form earlier, so one could have it during lectures and make notes much easier and more completely?
A: The printed script will be available when the school starts. The PDFs will also be available via “Dropbox” cloud storage.
Q: Will there be an examination at the end of the course?
A: There will be no examination.
Q: Will there be a poster session for students?
A: There will be no poster session or anything similar. The teaching programme will be entirely done by the teachers.
Q: How to reach the Youth Hostel on Sunday?
A: From Leipzig Hbf (Main Station) to Altenburg by S-Bahn (regional train) see “www.bahn.de”.
Sunday: 16:00 and 18:00 Shuttle bus transfer from railway station “Bahnhof Altenburg” to the Youth Hostel
Q: Do I have to bring towels/bed covers?
A: Please bring towels with you. Bed covers will be provided.
Q: Which comfort of accomodation can I expect?
A: It is a nice Youth Hostel with mainly 4- or 6-bed rooms, each having its own bathroom attached.
Q: Which type of clothing will be required?
A: Informal clothing. Be prepared that it might be cold in Germany during the winter month February. We will be staying in an old castle which is not always fully heated.
Q: Should I travel with suitcase or backpacker?
A: For the transport by shuttle bus on Sun and on Sat, there is a kind request by the bus company since space for luggage is limited: Please do not travel with a hard protective suitcase.
