The main processing of admission and exmatriculation is done by the student office.

This is where you should direct formal questions. For example:

  •     Part-time, double, parallel or second studies
  •     Re-registration
  •     Tuition fees
  •     UniCard
  •     Exmatriculation

If you have obtained a foreign citizenship or degree from a foreign country, the international centre will help them with the above concerns.

Due to health impairments of students, difficulties may arise during their studies in organizing their studies or in taking examinations. In these cases, students with impairments can apply for compensation for disadvantages. This enables them to participate in their studies and examinations with equal opportunities. Compensation for disadvantages does not represent preferential treatment, but is intended to lead to equal opportunities. They are derived, among other things, from the Basic Law and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Students with long-term health impairments or disabilities in particular are entitled to compensation for disadvantages.

Depending on the individual case, the following can be considered as compensation for disadvantages: Modification of study and examination achievements, (submission) deadlines or attendance requirements, or the individual adaptation of other teaching and examination conditions. They can be applied for before the studies and during the studies.

The application form, as well as detailed information on studying with health impairments, can be found on the central pages of Leipzig University.

It is possible to complete certain courses of study on a part-time basis due to disability and chronic illness. The requirements for part-time studies are regulated in the "Inter-Faculty Regulations Governing Part-Time Studies at Leipzig University". It is possible to change from one form to the other, but this should be discussed with the Student Secretariat. Part-time study is a good option, for example, after a longer period of illness, in order to find one's way back into everyday study life. The advantage over an individual special study plan is the usually less complicated organization of the studies. Please contact the staff of the Office of Study Affairs in good time to discuss a special study plan. Further information and the application form can be found on the central website of Leipzig University.
