Drying is one of the most important stages in the processing of natural gas since the presence of water vapor may cause the formation of hydrates, corrosion of equipment and usually disrupts the performance of subsequent unit operations This stage is commonly carried out by adsorption, using hydrophilic porous materials, which may be regenerated by increasing the temperature in a cyclic process known as Temperature Swing Adsorption ( In the long term, the continuous thermal swings, together with the presence of other contaminants, may lead to adsorbent degradation and hence reduced lifetime of the drying process, which is a critical issue on floating production storage and offloading ( units This presentation will cover the main findings (both from experimental and computational research work) over the past five years regarding the aging of molecular sieves and its impact on the drying
performance.
