Examinations are an essential part of your studies and a prerequisite for successful graduation. On this page you will find regulations and exam dates.
Your Exam Results
Grades for module examinations will be announced electronically via the AlmaWeb study portal. You can look up your grades in your personal account in AlmaWeb as soon as they have been entered and published there by the responsible lecturers or their office.
Module registration = Exam registration
The module registration at the beginning of the semester is equivalent to the exam registration. If you do not wish to take an examination, you must deregister from the module in good time. However, you will then also not be able to take part in the repeat examination. The deadline for deregistration in AlmaWeb is June 17, 2023.
Sickness certificates
If you become ill on an examination date, please submit the certificate of sickness to the office of study affairs in person or by e-mail (studienbuero[at]chemie.uni-leipzig.de). With the sick certificate, please also mention your enrollment number and the exam you are unable to attend. Please name your attachment properly. Sometimes PDF documents with illegible names are not forwarded via the university account.
The sickness certificate will then be entered for you in AlmaWeb and you will automatically be registered for the repeat examination. In case of illness on the first date of the semester, it is mandatory to take part in the repeat exam (if offered). The one-year time limit does not apply here.
Regulations for Failed Exams
According to the examination regulations, failed module examinations must be repeated within one year. After this period has expired, they are considered failed for a second time. The first retake exam can still take place in the same semester.
After the exam results have been announced and you find that you have failed an exam twice, you are required to apply for permission to repeat the exam a second time at the next possible exam date (usually in the same semester). Second repetitions must be taken at the next possible examination date and can only be taken upon written application to the examination board. In practice, this means that you make an appointment with the Dean of Studies Affairs at the Office of Study Affairs.
Please be sure to adhere to the repetition deadlines and inform yourself in good time at the Office of Study Affairs.
Examination Dates
Please find below an overview of the examination dates. Oral examinations and further exam types other than written are determined individually by the examiners.
