At our faculty you can study the bachelor's as well as master's degree programs and the teacher training programs in chemistry. In addition, there is the possibility to complete another German-language as well as three international Master's programs. On this page you will find the respective application modalities.

For applicants that obtained their Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Leipzig University:

A simple online application through AlmaWeb is sufficient. Deadlines are March 15th for the summer term and September 15th for the winter term.

For applicants that did not obtain their Bachelor at the University of Leipzig, but obtained their Bachelor degree in Germany:

Both an online application through AlmaWeb (until March 15th for the summer term and September 15th for the winter term) is required AND a registration with the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy to examine whether you meet the admission requirements.

Submission of the paperwork and the online application are independent of one another and need to be completed within the deadlines.

Subject-specific admission requirements:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or another natural or engineering science with a comparable chemical education or a confirmation that by keeping to the regular study schedule, such a degree can be obtained before the start of the master course
  • English language proficiency of level B2 – we recommend level C1 – of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or proof that this will be obtained before the start of the master course

For applicants who have obtained or who are going to obtain their Bachelor degree outside of Germany:
